Hundreds of farmers on tractors and harvester combines were to pass through Sector 17, but large number of policemen and paramilitary force deployed at the Mullapur barrier did not allow them to enter Chandigarh.

However, due to mutual understanding between the police and farmer representatives the tractor march was later allowed to pass through Sarangpur, Dhanas, Sectors 38 and 39 and re-enter Mohali.

Farm labourers, youth, elderly and children on tractors and harvester combines participated in the rally. The youngsters said they would hold a tractor and harvester combine march on Republic Day in Delhi.
