Fatehgarh Sahib Deputy Commissioner Dr Sona Thind today conducted a surprise checking at the Sub Registrar’s Office and inspected record and took feedback from the people.

She also raided 10-bedded government drug de-addiction centre, where seven addicts are undergoing treatment.

The DC said in pursuance of the zero-tolerance policy of the government regarding corruption, she had been conducting regular surprise checking of government offices to ensure corruption-free services to the people. She said she had checked the record of the Tehsildar Office and interacted with the people to address their grievances.

She called upon the officials to provide services in a transparent manner. She also urged the people to bring to her notice if they face any problem or if a bribe is demanded for any work.

She warned the officials that if any incident of corruption comes to light on their part, serious action would be initiated against them.

She asked officials of de-addiction centre to submit a detailed report of the kits and medicines used for treatment.

Thind added that the drug de-addiction centre was operational at the District Hospital, besides a 50-bed rehabilitation centre was also operational in at Sirhind.

Apart from these, six thousand drug addicts were being treated at 18 OOAT clinics in the district, she said.
