Fatehgarh Sahib residents to get delivery of essential commodities on doorstep

To maintain the supply of essential commodities and bona-fide movement of goods and persons carrying these goods for distribution, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Amrit Kaur Gill has issued directions and divided the district into sectors and appointed an officer in charge of the respective sectors.

He will be the nodal officer for his sector and, along with panchayat secretary, patwari, sarpanch, nambardar and beat officer, will ensure the physical verification of NRIs in the village and send his health report to the Civil Surgeon’s office. These officials will go door-to-door to spread awareness about Covid-19 and also check its symptoms. They will check hotels, dhabas and farm houses to ensure that no NRI is staying there. They will also ensure supply of essential commodities to the people in their sectors and send daily report to the respective SDM offices.

As per orders, milkmen and diary owners are allowed supply milk from 7 am to 9 am. Vegetables and grocery items will be sold door-to-door from 4 pm to 6 pm and no one will be allowed to sell on counters. Gas agencies will be allowed to operate for home delivery only from 1 pm to 3 pm, petrol pumps will be open from 8 am to 11 am. Chemist shops will provide door-to-door delivery of medicines to customers on request and no one will be allowed to open shop for sale over counter.

For emergency services, movement of vehicles carrying animal fodder, poultry food grain, milk, grocery items, petroleum products and LPG supply will be allowed. Besides this, the movement of government employees, electricity generation, transmission and distribution employees, health services personnel, private hospital staff, mediapersons having accreditation and yellow cards, telecom and railway infrastructure men will also be allowed to commute for work.Bottom of Form
