Acting swiftly on a complaint submitted, a joint team of JE-cum-mining inspectors Shubham Singla and Pankaj Jindal conducted an inspection at Saini Majra village in Majri block today.
During the site visit, the team detected illegal excavation at two separate locations. At GPS coordinates 30.894987, 76.628732, approximately 1,00,800 CFT of earth had been unlawfully mined, while an additional 1,06,920 CFT of illegal excavation was found at GPS coordinates 30.895558, 76.628704.
Following the inspection, the Mining Department immediately lodged an FIR against Satnam Singh, a resident of Khizrabad village, at the Majri block police station and seized one poclain machine and one tipper truck used in the illegal mining activity.
Department officials affirmed that stringent enforcement measures were undertaken to curb illegal mining and deter future violations.
In addition, an R-Notice has been issued regarding the illegal excavation at the identified sites. The Revenue Department has also been informed to carry out demarcation and initiate further necessary action in this connection.
