Mohali, August 20
In the first plasma therapy conducted at Fortis Hospital, SDM Jagdeep Sehgal, who recovered from virus infection three weeks ago, donated his plasma to Covid-infected DSP Kharar Pal Singh, whose condition suddenly deteriorated a night ago.
During preliminary tests, Jagdeep was found to be a fit donor with sufficient antibodies and blood match, said Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan.
“Encouraging to see donation of plasma by a corona conqueror Jagdeep Sehgal, SDM, Mohali, who fought #Covid19 successfully, to Pal Singh, DSP, Kharar. Wishing Pal Singh a speedy recovery. Also, urge all cured patients to donate plasma. #MissionFateh,” tweeted Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.
Meanwhile, Dayalan expressed his gratitude to the higher authorities for permitting three hospitals – Fortis, Max and Grecian – to conduct Covid-19 plasma therapy.
