Five theft cases solved, 7 held

The police claimed to have solved five cases of theft with the arrest of seven persons from whom stolen articles were recovered, officials said here today.

According to the police, Danny, Satta, alias Paiya, and Sanjay Kumar of Ambala Cantonment were arrested with electronic items stolen from the shop of Sakeel Ahmed in Ambala Cantonment on January 8. The suspects were sent to 14-day judicial remand.

In a separate case, Nausad Khan of Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh was arrested for stealing gold ornaments from a locked house in Barara near here on the intervening night of June 12 and 13 last. The suspect was sent to three-day police remand.

In another case, Ram Dass of Ambala was arrested with clothes stolen from the car of Jugal Kishore in Ambala City. He was remanded to 14-day judicial custody.

Similarly, Gopal Singh of Ambala City was arrested for stealing agriculture implements from the fields of Gobind Singh of Ambala city on June 7 last.

In a separate case, Bhagwant Singh of Ambala City was arrested for stealing household articles from the house of Mohinder Singh in Ambala City on June 11 last. The suspect was produced before a court, which ordered to release him on bail.
