Flesh trade racket at ‘spa centre’ busted; one held, three rescued
Panchkula, August 30
The Panchkula police have unearthed a prostitution racket being run under the garb of a spa centre at Sector-5 in Panchkula.
The police have arrested one man — identified as Harish Arora — and rescued three women from the site. The police also recovered some cash along with some objectionable items.
Police officials said a city resident, Rikki Dharmani, who owns a shop at Mansa Devi Complex (MDC) in Sector 5, had filed a complaint with the department, saying that Harish was running a prostitution racket under the garb of a spa centre at his shop.
He pointed out that the accused was collecting money from people before they entered the spa centre, and later people were expected to pay the women as well.
During its raid, the police sent a decoy customer to unravel the activity going-on at the site. The decoy informed the police regarding the ongoing practice by giving a missed-call on their phone. Soon the police officials raided the site and nabbed the individual running the centre.
Police officials said the accused was presented in a local court and sent to 14-day judicial custody. The police are also recording the statements of girls who were rescued from the site.
