Flight with 116 passengers from Auckland lands at Mohali airport

Mohali, June 17

The fifth evacuation flight, carrying 116 passengers from Auckland, landed at the Chandigarh international airport here this evening as part of the Vande Bharat Mission.

All repatriated persons, who mostly belong to various parts of Punjab, Haryana and nearby states, will reach their districts under the supervision of the respective state government representatives where they will be quarantined as per the government guidelines.

All passengers were subjected to medical screening and social distancing norms were strictly followed. Nobody was found symptomatic.

The passengers hailing from the district will not be sent home and would be kept under quarantine at various government facilities or hotels for 14 days as a precautionary measure.

The district administration had made proper arrangements and sent the passengers belonging to the other districts and states to their respective areas where they will undergo quarantine period.
