Outreach programme for TB patients held
The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), North Region, in partnership with the Health Department, UT, organised a social outreach programme wherein food baskets were distributed to nearly 60 TB patients.
The initiative aligned with the Government of India’s ambitious goal of achieving a ‘TB-Free India’ by March this year by ensuring proper nutrition for patients and raising awareness about the disease.
Ajay Chagti, Health Secretary, UT, and Dr Suman Singh, Director, Health Services, were special guests. Dr Rajesh Rana, State TB Officer, extended gratitude towards ASSOCHAM.
Chagti informed that food baskets will be provided to all patients for the next six months, ensuring continued nutritional aid. Suman Singh said the city reported around 7,000 TB cases in a year.
