Foreign national held with 250-gm heroin from Delhi

Fatehgarh Sahib, November 26

The district police have arrested a foreign national from Delhi on the basis of the information provided by a drug smuggler during his interrogation and recovered 250 gm of heroin from him.

The Fatehgarh Sahib SSP, Amneet Kondal, said during a drive against anti-social elements and drug smugglers, the Khamano police headed by DSP Dharmpal had arrested a drug smuggler identified as Bobby Verma and recovered 470 gm of heroin from him.

During interrogation, the suspect revealed that he used to bring heroin from a foreign national in Delhi and sell it in Punjab, the SSP added. On the basis of his disclosure the police raided foreign national’s residence in Delhi and arrested him, the SSP said. He was identified as JNC Kofi, the SSP added. The police recovered 250 gm of heroin from his possession, the SSP said. He was produced in a court, the SSP added. Information about more drug suppliers would likely come out during his interrogation, the SSP said. — OC
