Former Union Minister Harmohan Dhawan passed away at a private hospital in Mohali on Saturday.

He had been ill for a long time and was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition.

Dhawan had left the BJP to join the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and had contested the 2019 Lok Sabha polls from Chandigarh.

He had finished third after BJP MP Kirron Kher and former Congress MP Pawan Bansal.
