The suspect, identified as Ankit Rana, 21, a resident of Uncha Chandna in Yamunanagar, is reportedly part of the Kala Rana-Lawrence Bishnoi gang involved in extortion bids from inside the jail. Ankit was earlier booked in a snatching case. The other shooter is yet to be arrested.

The police said the two suspects had stolen a bike from Uttarakhand and fired gunshots at an immigration firm Flying Colours in Yamunanagar on May 15 afternoon before fleeing to Mohali on the bike.
