The police arrested four men for allegedly assaulting and robbing a 38-year-old woman earlier this week.
The accused had targeted the victim, Rashila, resident of New Indira Colony, Manimajra, late on October 22. They beat her up with rods and sticks and stole purse containing Rs 10,000, documents and a mobile phone.
A case had been registered under Sections 126(2), 310(2), and 311 of the BNS at the IT Park Police Station. A bamboo stick used in the attack was also recovered on the instance of one of the accused, Vijay alias Labbu, from the bushes opposite the Sports Complex in Manimajra.
According to the police, a control room call was received around 9.35 pm, reporting a brawl around House No. 148, New Indira Colony, involving several persons. The injured woman was taken to GMCH-32, where she initially declined to give a statement until after treatment. Upon discharge, she told investigators that she had been attacked by a group.
The accused were later identified as Hunny, Aashu, Chatu, Labbu, Kaku, Naveen, Kalu, Rajan, and others. Four of them, Naveen, Kalu, Labbu, and Harpal Singh, all residents of New Indira Colony, have been arrested.
