Hours after a labourer was robbed of his purse containing cash and documents, the police arrested the alleged perpetrators and claimed to have busted a gang.
In a complaint to the police, Nasiruddin (37) of Hallo Majra, had stated that he worked as a labourer in the Industrial Area, Phase 2. On February 13, he was passing by a temple in Ram Darbar when four youths came from the railway tracks side and started beating him up before snatching his wallet.
A case under Sections 309, 3(5) and 317(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered at the Sector 31 police station.
The police today arrested the suspects, who were identified as Ram Darbar residents Satpal, alias Babu, 20, Aakash, alias Billa, 19, Rahul, 29, and Hallo Majra resident Angeed, alias Chaila, 19. The snatched purse, money and documents were recovered from them. The suspects were produced in a court, which sent them to judicial custody.
