In his complaint, taxi driver Mohammad Alam, a resident of Saharanpur, stated that his friend Arjun asked him to drop him and three other men from Karnal to Chandigarh. When they reached Lalru, one of Arjun’s friends asked him to stop the car to answer nature’s call. When he stepped out of the car, the other two accomplices pushed him out of the vehicle and fled from the spot with the four-wheeler.

Investigation revealed that the suspects were planning to carry out a major incident by affixing a fake number plate on the car. The police said further questioning of the suspects was likely to lead to important revelations.
