Four held with fake currency

Dera Bassi: Four persons, including a woman, were arrested with counterfeit currency by the Panchkula police here today. A computer, a printer and fake notes of Rs500, Rs200 and Rs100 denominations were recovered from them. Dera Bassi SHO Satinder Singh confirmed that the Panchkula police arrested four persons from Dera Bassi. The suspects had taken a two-room accommodation on the first floor of a shop in Shakti Nagar on rent for past some time. A team of the Panchkula crime branch raided the place early in the morning and arrested the suspects. Sources said the woman hailed from Uttarakhand. The suspects had been duping people with the fake currency in Panchkula for the past some time. TNS

Eleven disobey DM’s order, held

Chandigarh: Ten FIRs have been registered at different police stations under Section 188 of the IPC for breaking Covid guidelines. Eleven persons were arrested from different parts of the city while roaming without pass/permit, disobeying orders of DM, UT, on Friday. They were later released on bail. TNS

2 motorcycles stolen from city

Chandigarh: A Khudda Jassu resident, Gopal, reported that unknown person stole his motorcycle from near his house on the night of April 28. A case has been registered at the Sarangpur police station. In another case, Kharar resident Jaskaran Singh reported that an unknown person stole his motorcycle near the Sector 22-B market on May 5. A case has been registered at the Sector 17 police station.
