The Chief Engineer said: “They were keen on knowing what we have done and what they can do, because they are also experts in restoration work.”

When members of the delegation were taken to the complex, they were very impressed with the work, he said. The delegation is on a visit to the city from February 3 to 9 to study the restoration of Le Corbusier Heritage.

The experts will give recommendations and technical assistance for further restoration of the heritage sites. The team will visit the Museum and other buildings in the city tomorrow.

On the request of UT Adviser Manoj Parida, the Government of France had agreed to send an expert appraisal mission to study the restoration of Le Corbusier heritage on December 2019.

The Capitol Complex was declared by UNESCO as World Heritage at the 40th session of World Heritage Conference in Istanbul, Turkey, in July 2016. The restoration work of the buildings was started soon after.
