Experts from French development agency AFD and the EU today visited the city to review the 24×7 water supply project. The team will study the technical aspects of the project and visit the project sites till September 25.

The team met Anindita Mitra, MCCommissioner-cum-CEO, Chandigarh Smart City Ltd, and other officers. Mitra welcomed the team, including Pierre and Ankit from the AFD and Delphine and Jatin from the EU, and conveyed gratitude towards the EU for the grant-in-aid and the AFD for the loan.

She said the project estimated to cost Rs591.57 crore stood approved by the AFD/EU. Mitra said the team would visit the Sector 39 waterworks, resettlement colonies, slum colonies and the MC office to assess its supply system and talk to officials, technical experts, engineers and residents. — TNS
