Gang targets cars in Chandigarh, tyres of 4 vehicles stolen

A gang of thieves targeting vehicles has once again surfaced in the city. Tyres of at least four four-wheelers have been stolen in less than two weeks. Notably, three of these incidents were reported from Sector 40.
In one such incident, complaint Tayab, a resident of Sector 56, reported that all four wheels of his SUV, which was parked near the Dashera Ground in the locality, were stolen on the intervening night of January 18 and 19. The matter was reported to the police and a case was registered.
On January 23, tyres of a car in Sector 40 were stolen. Complainant Gaurav Tyagi reported the car was parked near his house when the theft took place.
The same day, all four wheels of an SUV parked in Sector 40 were stolen. Sarbjit Singh reported the vehicle was parked outside house.
Sources said the same gang struck again on the intervening night of January 26 and 27 and stole the tyres of another car parked in Sector 40. The matter was reported to the police by Sailesh Banduni. The police have registered cases in all incidents at Sector 39 police station and initiated an investigation.
