Mohali: Mayor Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu kick started the garbage collection work at a park in Sector 78, Mohali, under the ‘Swachhta sankalp desh ka har ravivar ek sa’ campaign. The Mayor said in every ward of Mohali, a cleanliness drive had been launched by councillors. He said people had been warned against using plastic bags. — TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
