Chandigarh, March 16

Rahul Ahlawat, a final year BE student of University Institute of Engineering and Technology, PU, has secured AIR-25 in the mechanical engineering stream of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) examinations, the results of which were declared by IIT Delhi on Friday. Rahul scored 81.93 marks out of 100.

Rahul was awarded a cash prize of Rs 3,000 for achieving best GATE score in the department of the UIET. The award was given by the Director Savita Gupta in the presence of Coordinator Manu Sharma and GATE committee in-charge Dr Shankar Sehgal.

Rahul (20) said it was truly a proud moment for his family and university. Discussing his future strategy, he said, “I want to prepare for the UPSC exam in future, however, my immediate next goal is to join in a public sector unit (PSU) for serving the nation.”
