GC Sharma wins gold in golf
Col GC Sharma won the Handicap 0-9 category during the 8th Amateur Golfers Society Golf Tournament, at Panchkula Golf Club (PGC) on Sunday. The tournament was organised by the Amateur Golfers Society (AGS). Sharma clinched the top spot with an impressive score of 72, followed by Col Tika Bedi at second position with a score of 78 and Brig GJ Singh at third spot with a score of 81.
Babita Mahajan emerged victorious with a score of 87 in the women’s category of the Handicap 10-15 event. Prashant Modgil clinched the first position with a score of 75 in the men’s event, while Rajinder Meena claimed the second spot with a score of 81. GS Hira finished third with a score of 82.
In the Handicap 16 and above category, CP Kaushal emerged victorious with an impressive score of 80, followed by Dr RK Talwar (81) and Kulbir Bakshi (82) at second and third position, respectively. Rajinder Meena won the ‘Nearest to the Pin’ event, while Amrinder Singh took the ‘Longest Drive’ title with an impressive 318-yard drive. Col Hardeep Judge claimed victory in the ‘Straightest Drive’ with a perfect 11-yard hit.
A total of 100 players, including 88 men and 12 women, competed across various categories. All the golfers played all 18 holes on the par-72 course.
