Several complainants appeared before the nine-member Internal Complaints Committee of Dayanand Anglo-Vedic College, Sector 10, to formally present their version against an assistant professor, who allegedly sent inappropriate texts to them.
Members from a particular political group were present outside the campus, which reportedly created difficulties for complainants to leave the premises after the committee proceedings were over.
According to sources in the college, the complainants also asked three members from the committee, who were said to be close to the accused teacher, to leave the room where proceedings were being held. The three members obliged and went outside, the sources confirmed.
The college had received anonymous complaints against the accused teacher via mail, after which he was asked to proceed on leave. The assistant professor had also relinquished the charge he was holding in the college.
The accused teacher has also been summoned on a particular day to appear before the committee.
“Investigation is being held by the committee and nothing more can be said as of now. Let the proceedings take their course,” said college principal J Khatri.
