Girl’s body found at Khuda Lahora

Three days after the body of a youth, around 25 years of age, and a damaged car were found near the Patiala Ki Rao rivulet in Nayagaon, the body of a girl was recovered from near the Khuda Lahora bridge today.
Passersby noticed stray dogs mauling the body and informed the police. A team of the Nayagaon police reached the GMSH-16 to take possession of the body from the Sarangpur police.
While the youth has been identified as Sandeep, the identity of the girl is yet to be established. The exact cause of their death is not known yet. No suicide note or missing person report regarding the victims have come to light.
The police suspect the vehicle was washed away in the rain-fed rivulet. Nayagaon SHO Jaideep Dhankhad said the police were ascertaining the whereabouts of a Ludhiana boy and a girl who were seen in the area a few days ago. Villagers had warned them against taking the car close to the rivulet. The police are making enquiries with rental car agencies. “It may help in ascertaining the whereabouts of the passengers who took the car on rent,” said a policeman.
The police have shifted the youth’s body to the mortuary of the Kharar Civil Hospital.
Many persons had lost their lives after being washed away in the Patiala ki Rao here in the rainy season.
