A day after a man was robbed of a Toyota Fortuner at gunpoint from Sector 35 market, the UT police recorded the statement of a girl, who was sitting in the car at the time of the incident. Meanwhile, a case has also been registered at the Sector 36 police station.

The girl, who is known to the complainant, was sitting alone in the SUV when the suspect arrived and sat in the car.

The suspect asked the girl to get down from the SUV after which he fled away from the spot.

The police scrutinised the footage of CCTV cameras installed in market in which SUV is also visible. Complainant Harminder Singh of Bar Majra, Mohali, had gone to buy food when the incident was reported. He had left the keys in the vehicle only.
