Three flights were cancelled and 26 delayed at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport Chandigarh today due to technical problems with the air traffic control system at the Delhi airport.
Flights arriving from or departing to Delhi were behind schedule by two to five hours since morning today. Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Goa, Jaipur and Srinagar flights were also delayed. Three flights to Delhi, Jaipur and Dharamshala were cancelled today, officials said.
Flight arrivals were impacted since early in the morning. The afternoon flights from Jaipur and Delhi were late by more than four and a half hours.
Airports Authority of India (AAI) posted on X at 10:08 am, “Flight operations at the Delhi airport are facing delays due to a technical issue in the Automatic Message Switching System, which supports air traffic control data.”
Sources said the problem was being encountered for the past two days, but technical issue started to impact the system significantly from around 5.45 am today.
