Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 37, will face Government Model High School (GMHS), Sector 37, in the final of the boys’ U-14 baseball inter-school tournament. GMSSS, Sector 37-B, logged a 15-7 win over GMSSS, Sector 8. In the second semifinal, GMHS, Sector 37-C, posted a 17-7 win over St Anne’s School, Sector 32.
Jhanvi, Tathastu bag titles
Jhanvi Singh won the girls’ U-15 title by defeating Ariba Sheikh 15-4, 15-6 during the inter-school badminton tournament. Tathastu Rai won the boys’ final by defeating Prajjwal Pathak 15-11, 15-7. Trishika Sonkar defeated Megan Prakash 15-8, 15-6 to win the women’s final, while the pair of Agrima Gupta and Jhanvi Singh won the girls’ U-15 doubles final by defeating Aarohi Semwal and Anvesha Gupta 15-7, 15-8.
Ifra Fatima and Shreya Sagar won the women’s doubles final by recording a comeback 6-15, 15-11, 17-15 win over Ariba Sheikh and Megan Prakash. The team of Agha Abbas and Tathastu won the boys’ U-15 doubles final by defeating Prakash Rai and Vijyant Singh 15-6, 15-3. Tathastu defeated Yuvraj Singh 15-9, 15-8 to bag the U-19 title, while Jahnavi overpowered Trishika Sonkar 10-15, 15-11, 15-10 to win the girls’ event.
Arnav Mehrothra and Tathastu won the boys’ U-19 doubles title by defeating Aman Jena and Atul Mohan 15-7, 15-9, and Agrima Gupta and Jhanvi Singh defeated Aarohi Semwal and Manya Gupta 15-12, 15-11 to win the U-19 doubles final. Moksh Shaswat and Raunak won the men’s doubles final by defeating Divij Singh and Tathastu 18-16 15-12, while Divij Singh won the men’s title by defeating Moksh Shashwat 15-13, 15-17 15-12.
GNPS win title
Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, won the boys’ U-14 inter-school cricket tournament. The Sector 36 team defeated DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, by 54 runs. Batting first, the Sector 36 team posted 111/5 in 18 overs with the help of Shivansh (65) and Manik (33). Mohammed Aman claimed two wickets for the bowling side.
In reply, DAV School posted 57 in 15.2 overs. Arvind (35) and Ekamjot (6) scored for the side. Karan claimed three wickets for the bowling side, while Pushminder took two. St Joseph’s School, Sector 44, posted a 56-run win over St John’s School, Sector 26, to claim the third position. Batting first, the Sector 44 posted 121 with the help of Sukhman (44) and Arvinder (28). Harveer and Abir claimed a wicket each. In reply, the Sector 26 team, posted 65 runs. Jayansh (24) and Lakshay (15) were the two main scorers for the side. Aarav Sharma and Aarav claimed three wickets each for the bowling side.
