Gold bangle stolen, 2 held

Chandigarh: Two women managed to steal a gold bangle from a woman from outside the PGI. The complainant, Surjit Kaur, a resident of Nawanshahr, reported that the women stole her bangle from the PGI bus stop. The police were informed after which a case was registered at the Sector 11 police station. Later, during the investigation, the suspects, identified as Gurmito, alias Lachmi (70), and Satya, alias Preeto (65), both residents of Patiala, were arrested by the police. TNS

Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Sepaktakraw Association is organising men and women’s state championship for the subjunior, junior and senior categories at Ryan International School, Sector 49-B, here on April 16 and 17. The last date for submitting entries is April 15. TNS

Thieves strike at temple

Chandigarh: Four CCTV cameras, wires and other recording equipment were stolen from a temple at New Indira Colony, Mani Majra. The police have registered a case on a complaint of Shamveer Singh. TNS

IAF Hockey meet from April 18

Chandigarh: The IAF will conduct the Arjan Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament, in the memory of the third Marshal of the Air Force, from April 18 to 23 at No. 3 Base Repair Depot (3BRD), Chandigarh.
