Golf: Top podium finish for Krish Chawla

Krish Chawla (16), a student of Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26, won the title in the combined A & B category at the Indian Golf Union (IGU) Northern India Junior Golf Championship held at Chandigarh Golf Club.
In the combined A & B category (14-18 years age group), the final day saw three golfers tied at a score of 9-under par 279, which led to a play-off. In the play-off, Krish emerged as the winner followed by Rakshit Dahiya and Ranveer Mitroo in the order. In the category B (13-14 years age group), Arjun Veer Shishir was the winner with a score of 3- over par 291 over three days. Harjai Milkha Singh, son of international golfer Jeev Milkha Singh, claimed the second position, while Arshvant Srivastava finished third.
With two players tied at 13-over par 229 in the category C (11-13 years age group), the winner had to be decided through a play-off which had to be repeated five times. Aditya Misra of Delhi was the eventual winner, followed by Aditya Tewari at second position and Raajveer Surri at third.
A total of 117 players participated in the tournament and after the Round 2 day’s cut, 71 players competed for the honours in their respective categories.
