Following queries by residents, the UT Administration has again clarified that Good Friday (April 18) and Buddha Purnima (May 12) will be public holidays as per the earlier notification in all government offices, boards, corporations, institutions and industrial establishments under the Chandigarh Administration.

However, both these public holidays will not be within the meaning of Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
