Mohali: Graft-accused Sohana ASI absconding

The accused, ASI Kamalpreet Sharma, has been absconding since then, cops said. The complainant, Harjinder Singh of Anandpur Sahib, had approached the VB stating that the ASI had demanded Rs 50,000 bribe in an accidental death case from the truck owner Satish Kumar.
The ASI had already taken Rs 5,000 but was still allegedly harassing the complainant even after being transferred from the Saneta police post.
PSEB official suspended
The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB), meanwhile, suspended a junior assistant, who has been identified as Vishal Nayyar, posted in examination branch following a departmental inquiry. His promotion has also been revoked.
Meanwhile, four other employees were let off with a reprimand in a matter related to tampering of roll number records in the computer cell against the Board’s guidelines.
Officials said notices were issued on May 12, 2020, and a departmental inquiry was conducted after official orders on August 13, 2020.
