Graft case: CBI court frames charges against Chandigarh woman cop

Chandigarh, January 4
Jagjit Singh, Special Judge, CBI Court, has framed charges against Sarabjit Kaur, woman sub-inspector of the Chandigarh Police, who was arrested while allegedly taking bribe.
The CBI court has framed the charges a month after getting sanction to prosecute her. The charges have been framed for the offences punishable under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The CBI had arrested the woman sub-inspector on September 17, 2021 while allegedly taking bribe from the complainant.
The CBI had registered the FIR against the accused on the complaint of a person who alleged that the woman cop had demanded bribe from him for not putting his name in a case registered at the Sector 36 police station, Chandigarh. The sub-inspector was probing a case registered under the POCSO Act.
