The organs of a 39-year-old man from Mohali, who was declared brain-dead last evening due to a brain aneurysm, have given a new lease of life to four people.

The patient, admitted at Max Hospital here and was declared brain dead. His wife agreed to donate his organs and the doctors retrieved two kidneys and two corneas which were fit for donation.

A green corridor was created to transport the organs from the hospital to PGIMER and Fortis Hospital. The organs were seamlessly transported, covering a 10-km distance within 8 minutes.

One kidney was allocated to a patient, who had been on the waiting list for almost 8 years, at the hospital itself. The two corneas were allocated to PGIMER and one kidney was allocated to Fortis Hospital.
