‘Grievances of needy being addressed on doorstep’

The Mahatma Gandhi Sarbat Vikas Yojna (MGSVY) introduced by the state government is proving boon for the needy as their grievances are being addressed on their doorstep.

Over 40,000 people have benefited from these camps in the district, said Fatehgarh Sahib Deputy Commissioner Amrit Kaur Gill. She inaugurated the district-level camp organised under the MGSVY at Railon village in Bassi Pathana today. Heads of 21 departments visited the camp to address queries of beneficiaries.

The Deputy Commissioner said, “The objective of the camps is to identify poor and distressed people who have been deprived of various welfare schemes launched by the state government. Every eligible beneficiary will get the benefit of welfare schemes.”

She directed the Educatuion Department to construct a boundry wall of the school village. She asked for reverification of the Atta Dal Scheme cards and distributed cheques to beneficiaries for constructing puucca houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. TNS
