Guard found dead at under-construction site in Zirakpur

A security guard was found dead near the basement of an under-construction showroom at Chandigarh-Ambala National Highway in Zirakpur this morning. The deceased has been identified as 52-year-old Sunil.

Upon receiving the information, the police team reached the spot and began an investigation.

A forensic team has collected samples from the spot but the police remained tightlipped over whether the person sustained injuries due to falling from the building or were they probing a murder angle. Several persons working nearby, meanwhile, have been questioned in this regard.

The police are also scanning through the CCTV footage recovered from the area.

The deceased was last seen on Friday evening when he had come to the site for his evening shift.

The body has been kept in the mortuary at the Dera Bassi Civil Hospital.
