Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh Gulab Chand Kataria today said that border security was among the biggest challenge being faced by India as it was marching towards its goal of becoming a fully developed nation by 2047.

Speaking at an investiture ceremony of the BSF here, the Governor pointed out that this goal could not be achieved without ensuring border security and added that India was enhancing its capability and strength to safeguard its long borders.

During the ceremony, he presented a total of 37 Police Medals for Meritorious Service to BSF officers and other ranks, including a few retired personnel. The Additional Director General of BSF’s Western Command, Satish S Khandare, along with other senior BSF officers, as well as other dignitaries were also present on the occasion. Kataria also lauded the contributions of the BSF .
