Gully cricket meet resumes today

After a pause due to a ‘war-like’ situation between India and Pakistan, the Gully Cricket Tournament will resume tomorrow.The two quarterfinals, followed by the semifinals and final will be played. Exhibition matches between the British Deputy High Commission XI and Competent XI, and PGI Doctors XI and IMA Doctors XI will be organised on May 17.

The date and venue of prize distribution ceremony are yet to be finalised. Organised by the UT Cricket Association in collaboration with the Chandigarh Police and supported by the Departments of Education and Sports, and the Municipal Corporation, the tournament has seen an unprecedented participation of 576 teams. Earlier, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini was scheduled to be the chief guest for the prize distribution ceremony on May 11, but the event was postponed in light of national security concerns.
