Gunshot fired, SUV vandalised in Mohali

Unidentified men fired a gunshot at an SUV parked outside a house in Phase 1 and vandalised it with swords and rods in the wee hours of December 8.

Gurdeep Singh, the vehicle owner, said he came to know about the incident in the morning when he was about to go to the gym. The victim, who owns a paying guest accommodation and is a BJP worker, said at first, he thought someone had hit stones at the vehicle but later realised that a gunshot had been fired as a bullet shell was found inside the vehicle. The windowpanes of the vehicle were shattered.

The CCTV footage showed unidentified armed men coming in a white SUV around 00:50 am and firing a gunshot at the vehicle. They vandalised its bonnet with swords before fleeing.

The police have started an investigatio into the matter.
