Gurdaspur shivers as Punjab, Haryana continue to record low temps     

Gurdaspur recorded a minimum temperature of 3.8°C as the states’ common capital, Chandigarh recorded a low of 8°C

Cold weather conditions continued to persist in Punjab and Haryana on Saturday with Gurdaspur being the coldest place as it recorded the minimum temperature of 3.8°C.

Among other places in Punjab, Amritsar recorded a low of 9.4°C, four degrees above normal, according to a report of the meteorological department.

Ludhiana, Patiala, Pathankot, Bathinda and Faridkot districts experienced cold weather conditions at 6.4, 7.4, 8.9, 6 and 9.8°C respectively.

In Haryana, Ambala’s minimum was 8.6°C, one degree above normal.

Hisar, Karnal, Narnaul, Rohtak, Bhiwani and Sirsa recorded their respective minimum temperatures of 7.6, 6.8, 6.3, 10.8, 7.4 and 9°C.

Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, recorded a low of 8°C, two notches below normal.
