Gurukul Global cagers score easy win at U-19 tourney

The boys’ U-19 team of Gurukul Global, Manimajra, recorded a 52-33 win over Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, at the CBSE Cluster XVII Basketball Tournament, which is being organised by PML SD Public School, Sector 32. Rupender and Nikhil gathered 12 points each for the winning side.

Scared Soul, Mohali, posted a 51-26 win over Vivek High School, Sector 38, as Shebaz (21 points) and Uday (7 points) shared maximum points, while St Xavier’s, Bathinda, logged a one-sided 66-17 win over Oasis School, Malerkotla.

In the girls’ U-19 event, Guru Nanak Public School outclassed Maxim Merry School, Kharar, 20-0 with Prabhjot (12 points) and Jaskeerat (4 points) shining for the side, while St Joseph’s School, Sector 44, defeated Gian Jyoti School, Mohali, 30-3. Manasvi and Gunreet posted 12 points each for the winning side. Sacred Heart Convent School, Sector 26, defeated Maxim Merry School, Kharar, 34-0 as Krisha (8 points) and Harnoor (6 points) contributed in the win.

More than 90 teams from Punjab and Chandigarh are participating in the tournament.
