Locals informed the police, after which Gurpreet was taken to hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
The victim’s father, Baldev Singh, hinted that the suspects had called him at the spot and demanded the immediate arrest of the accused.
Kharar Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Karan Singh Sandhu said, “The CCTV footage of the incident has been retrieved and teams have been sent to nab the assailants. They will be arrested soon.”
“When the police reached the spot, the market was already closed. A kirpan and an empty shell were found at the spot,” he added.
