Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini flags off vans to gather suggestions for ‘sankalp-patra’
Panchkula, August 21
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to gather people’s suggestions for its sankalp patra (manifesto). Along with making promises the party, for the first time, will also mention the time-line in which it plans on fulfilling its promises.
Chilef Minister Nayab Singh Saini today flagged-off two vans, which will go around the state, to gather people’s suggestions for the manifesto. He was joined by sankalp patra committee chairman and party national secretary Om Prakash Dhankar.
Saini said they held a meeting of the committee to chalk-out a plan for their campaign, of seeking suggestions from the people. Saini said, “The sankalp vans will go to every block in all 22 districts of Haryana and will collect suggestions from people. We have assigned duties of leaders according to each area.”
He said people’s suggestions would be included in the manifesto for the upcoming Assembly elections. The vans would cover all blocks in all districts in the state for a week. The party would hold another meeting on August 29 to discuss all suggestions in detail, he added.
He said the party had fulfilled all 265 promises that were made in the 2019 elections. He, targeting the Congress party, said their manifesto was empty. “Congress does not do what it says. The opposition resorts to lies in the name of announcements. But in last 10 years, we have worked non-stop for the development of Haryana.”
Dhankar said the party had made available a QR code on social media platforms, through which a suggestion page would open. “Apart from this, publicity will also be done in newspapers. We have also issued a No. (7015900900), on which suggestions can be given by giving a missed call.”
The party leaders said they had assigned duties of various leaders to collect suggestions of people of all societies, including businessmen, reserved categories, NRIs, and former Army personnel, among others.
