Haryana CM Nayab Saini invites ideas from women at pre-budget talk
Chief Minister (CM) Nayab Singh Saini today chaired the sixth pre-budget consultation, focusing on women’s empowerment.
A total of 35 women leaders from fields including anganwadis, farming, self-help groups and entrepreneurship participated in the discussion, sharing their suggestions for the upcoming budget.
Saini emphasised that both the Central and Haryana governments were committed to advancing women’s empowerment, with the aim of increasing their participation in the development of the state.
“The suggestions from the women would play a significant role in shaping the budget,” he further added.
One of the key initiatives discussed was the expansion of “Sanjha Bazaars”, a scheme designed to provide women with opportunities to sell products and become self-reliant.
Following the launch in Karnal, similar markets will be introduced in Yamunanagar and Fatehabad.
The CM also mentioned the establishment of Mahila Chaupals in villages to promote women’s community engagement.
The state government has implemented various measures to support women’s education and safety, including the establishment of women’s colleges every 20 kilometers and the introduction of a pink bus service for female students.
Saini further highlighted the Prime Minister’s announcement of a 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies by 2029.
He encouraged the women to listen to the budget speech in February, where their suggestions would be reflected.
The meeting concluded with a gesture of recognition when Gurpreet Kaur, a progressive woman farmer, presented her homemade turmeric pickle to the CM.
