Haryana Governor inaugurates Durga Puja festivities
The festivities will continue at the Sector 20 Community Centre until October 1
Haryana Governor Ashim Kumar Ghosh on Sunday formally inaugurated the Durga Puja celebrations at the Sector 20 Community Centre in Panchkula. Accompanied by his wife, Mitra Ghosh, he took part in the traditional rituals and extended his warm greetings and best wishes to the people of the state. The event has been organised by Tricity Durga Bari, a youth-led organisation known for promoting socio-cultural initiatives and charitable activities in Panchkula. The festivities will continue at the Sector 20 Community Centre until October 1.
Addressing the gathering, Prof Ghosh described Durga Puja as much more than a religious festival. “It is a reaffirmation of eternal values such as righteousness, courage and the triumph of good over evil,” he said.
Rs 28.07L collected on Day 7 of Navratri fair
On the seventh day of the Ashwin Navratri fair, devotees offered a total of Rs 28,07,780 at Shri Mata Mansa Devi Temple, Shri Kali Mata Temple in Kalka and Chandi Mata Temple. At Shri Mata Mansa Devi Temple alone, around 57,000 devotees paid obeisance.
Deputy Commissioner and Chief Administrator of the Shri Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board, Satpal Sharma, informed that donations included Rs 22,32,368 at Shri Mata Mansa Devi Temple, Rs 5,48,982 at Shri Kali Mata Temple, Kalka, and Rs 26,430 at Chandi Mata Temple.
