Haryana Speaker Gian Chand Gupta launches cleanliness fortnight

In order to make Panchkula clean, beautiful and green, Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta launched a cleanliness fortnight, “Swachhta Pakhwada”, by cutting grass with a machine near Gandhi Colony in the Mansa Devi Complex here today.
Gian Chand Gupta, along with Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal, MC Commissioner Dharamvir Singh, Deputy Commissioner Deepak Sura and councillors, reached Gandhi Colony in the Mansa Devi Complex to launch the cleanliness campaign. He also started a tree plantation campaign by planting saplings.
He appealed to city residents, resident welfare associations, educational institutions, social and religious organisations and government departments to participate wholeheartedly in the campaign.
Addressing the media, Gian Chand Gupta said under the campaign, “Swachhta Pakhwada” would be celebrated for the first 15 days. A complete action plan had been made to keep the city clean and beautiful. The main facilitator in the campaign would be the Municipal Corporation staff, while the Haryana Urban Department Authority, the Horticulture Department, the PWD and the district police would work as associates.
Gian Chand Gupta later held a meeting with councillors and nodal officers. He gave them tips to make the cleanliness fortnight a success.
Superintendent Engineer Vijay Goel, CSI Avinash Singla, Narendra Lubana, councillor from Ward No. 1, Suresh Verma, councillor from Ward No. 2, Sonia Sood from Ward No. 4 and Jai Kaushik from Ward No. 5 were among those present on the occasion.
