Haryana’s Dhruv Sachdeva toppled top seed Delhi’s S Sharma 6-3 4-6 7-5 in a battle that lasted over 45 minutes, during a boys’ U-18 pre-quarterfinal match at the ongoing CLTA-AITA Super Series Tennis Tournament.

Gujarat’s Vatsal Manikantan logged a comeback 2-6 6-3 6-4 win over Haryana’s Prashant Proacha and Delhi’s Harsh Fogaat ousted Karanataka’s Aaradhaya Dwivedi 6-0 6-1. Bhicky Sagolshem of Manipur overpowered Varchasva Thapliyag of Uttarakhand 7-5 7-6(3) and Delhi’s Deepam Malik defeated Manipur’s Shanker Heisnam 6-1 6-3. Om Yadav of Uttar Pradesh easily defeated Jevin Ashok Kanani 6-4 6-0 and Haryana’s Arntya Ohlyan defeated Delhi’s Dhruv Kumar 1-6 6-2 6-4.

Maharashtra’s A Nagpure outplayed Shafaat Ali Asghar of Rajasthan 5-7 7-5 6-4 in another tough battle.

In the boys’ U-16 category, top seed D Sachdeva from Haryana defeated Heisnam 6-3 7-6(4). Dhruv Kumar also marched ahead by defeating Arntya Ohlyan 6-2 6-3 and V Manikantan overpowered Aaradhaya Dwivedi 6-4 4-6 7-6(4). K Chothani ousted Delhi’s Hriday Rawal 6-1 6-2 and Akshat Dhull outplayed Pragun Thakur 6-2 6-2. Jevin Ashok Kanani logged an easy 6-3 6-3 win over P Mishra and Delhi’s Sharma ousted Parmarth Kaushik 7-6(5) 6-0.

Radha stuns top seed

Chandigarh’s Radha Sadhra stunned top seed S Kumari in straight sets 6-4 6-3 in the girls’ U-16 pre-quarterfinals. A Raval defeated Janvi Sharma 6-1 6-0. Haryana’s D Sharma defeated Dea Sharma of Uttar Pradesh 6-2 6-1 and Saijayani Banerjee ousted Mokshika Yadav 6-0 6-0. Haryana’s T Panwar defeated Chandigarh’s Mannat Awasthi 6-1 6-3 and Isheeta Midha ousted Kritika Sharma 7-5 6-4. Jaya Kapoor defeated Haryana’s Suhani Gaur 4-6 6-2 6-3.

In the girls’ U-18 category, top seed S Kumari outplayed Dea Sharma 6-1 6-0 and Jaya Kapoor outplayed S Gaddam 6-0 6-1. Suhani Gaur defeated Ananya Dogra 6-0 6-1. Riya Kaushik thrashed Haryana’s Rubani Kaur Sidhu 6-0 6-1 and Saijayani Banerjee defeated Suryanshi 6-0 6-0.
