The anti-narcotics cell of the Ambala police today recovered a stock of liquor of different Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) brands of the 1998 batch from a closed godown at Kuldeep Nagar in Ambala Cantonment today.

Cell in-charge Hamir Singh said, “We got information that an old stock of liquor is lying in a godown and some people illegally sell it to people belonging to labour class on low rates. A decoy customer was sent and the information was found to be true. On the direction of the Superintendent of Police, a raid was conducted and the stock recovered from the godown. Excise officials were also informed.”

There were bottles of different volumes in the stock. The liquor was distilled, blended and bottled by Gwalior distillers limited. A case has been registered at the Parao police station. — TNS
