The Chandigarh Administration Health Department has launched NetProFaN (Network of Professional of Food and Nutrition). The network will act as coordinating mechanism among the various organisations and associations who are currently working independently with their vision and objective in the field of food and nutrition.
NetProFaN is envisaged as a platform, hosted by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), to leverage the collective strengths of the professional associations and bodies in food and nutrition, to foster innovations and enhance complementarity across these bodies.
Organisations such as Indian Medical Association (IMA), Indian Dietetic Association (IDA), Nutrition Society of India (NSI), Indian Federation of Culinary Association (IFCA), Association of Food Scientists and Technologists India (AFSTI), Directorate of School and College Education, Institute of Chandigarh Hotel Management, Dr Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management and Association of Analytical Communities (AOAC)will collectively work under the network to upgrade and advice general public, food industry, academic institutions and schools about safe and nutritious food to preserve its nutritious value which can be given under the ages of NetProFan.
The Sector 8 Market Association was honoured by certificate of merit for good performance under the FSSAI’s “Clean Street Food Hub” initiative.
