Health experts discuss HPV vax, diabetes mgmt during conference

A Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme was organised by the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at Panchkula Civil Hospital.
Haryana Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Dr RS Punia inaugurated the event. Addressing the gathering, he stressed the need for more such events, as they are necessary for the development and implementation of new protocols in patient management at civil hospitals in the state.
DHS gynaecologists Dr Manish Bansal, Dr Renu Chakravarty, Dr Umesh N Jindal, Dr Ruby Bhatia and Dr Vandana Gupta presided over scientific sessions at the event.
Some of the other eminent speakers at the event were — Dr Vanita Suri (Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at PGIMER, Chandigarh), Dr Rashmi Bagga (Professor at PGIMER), and Dr Poonam Goel (Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at GMCH, Sector 32, Chandigarh)
The speakers presented lectures on topics such as amendments to the MTP Act, the use of progesterone in pregnancy, the role and applicability of the HPV vaccination in India, osteoporosis, neonatal resuscitation, and the management of diabetes during pregnancy.
Over 150 delegates from Panchkula, Chandigarh and other districts of Haryana participated in the event.
