Health Secy awards city’s best-decorated markets

Health, Excise and Taxation Secretary Ajay Chagti gave away awards to the winning markets for the ‘Best Decorated Markets’ and ‘Best Parking Managed Markets’ during the Diwali festival. The event was organised by the Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM) at Kalagram last evening.

Charanjiv Singh, president of the Chandigarh Beopar Mandal, lauded the market associations for decorating markets and managing the parking lots during the Diwali festival which had increased footfall and resulted in higher sales in the sector markets.

Chagti emphasised the importance of ABHA cards for health and medical records, as introduced by the Government of India and persuaded the traders to create their Health Account identities.
